Dr. Stephen L. Pruitt is president of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), a role he assumed in August 2025. With more than 30 years in education, he has served as a classroom teacher, state education leader in Georgia and Kentucky, and most recently as president of the Southern Regional Education Board. He holds a Ph.D. in chemistry education from Auburn University.
